Wiss Adds XCM to Its Growth Strategy

Wiss & Company, LLP is one of New Jersey's largest and most successful accounting and consulting firms - experiencing an average of 25% growth per year for each of the last three years. The firm's 150 employees, including 27 partners, are spread over three offices in New Jersey and New York City.

Maximizing Paperless Investments

The tight labor market and the firm's rapid rate of growth led Wiss to move toward a paperless environment in order to increase productivity, create efficiencies and improve collaboration across its offices. Two important issues hindered its plans - when and how to scan, and how to control the workflow without paper files being passed around.

Wiss chose XCM workflow management software for its ease-of-use and superior, best-of-breed functionality - particularly for a multi-office environment. XCM works with the firm's existing ProSystem fx® Office software, and its integration with Document affords even greater efficiencies. Adopting XCM also solved the other issue, leading the firm to re-evaluate and standardize its processes - including scanning on the front-end.

Immediate Productivity Gains

Wiss credits a 25% gain in productivity to using XCM during its first busy season by giving professional staff more control over their own work and better visibility into work in progress firm-wide - from within the office or a remote location. Staff no longer waste precious billable hours tracking down files or deciphering handwritten knowledge and instructions. And, partners can easily check the status of one or all clients' returns and projects for improved customer service and resource planning.

"At Wiss we are constantly striving to examine our workflow processes as a means of meeting client expectations for top level service. XCM is a superior system, which provides our partners, staff and support personnel with a comprehensive platform to track workflow, while enhancing communication within the firm and to our clients," said Jeff Campo, CPA, Managing Partner, Wiss & Company, LLP
